Coming to a Theater Near You!

In a world where Hollywood seems to push us in every direction except toward God, it is refreshing to see a film that is unashamed of the God and of the gospel.

Last year, SF attended a children’s conference where the pastors of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, GA were keynote speakers.  Their church is the driving force behind Sherwood Pictures which has produced a number of feature films—Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Flywheel and soon to be one more.  They brought a prescreen copy of their new movie, “Courageous.”  Sarah came home really excited about the movie.  She arranged for the staff and elders to preview the movie a few months ago.

It is a movie squarely aimed at raising the level of fatherhood among both Christian and non-Christian men.

We would like to encourage everyone to see this movie.  It will be released on September 30—coming to a theater near you!

….Yet another 2 year old who learns that temper tantrums work.

As they used to say in my day, “gag me with a spoon”. I’m all in favor of the manly virtues such as courage. It’s cheese that riles my stomach.

hopefully some will see past the con quesoness of the movie and see the message. Or maybe assigning a couple elders and making it public that they are responsible for what goes in the bulletin and you are responsible for what comes from the pulpit. Nah that would never work they woudl just start telling you what to say there too. what a tough decision. Maybe make veggie tales available for the more enlightened!
    Good luck my Brother.

Why is it that through the centuries, millennia actually, Christianity has had some incredibly deep thinkers, yet current American “Christian” media is so incredibly shallow and cheesy?

At this point, I try my best to avoid”Christian” movies – the other folks in the theater don’t like it when I vomit!!!

can’t really think of a good one since shadowlands, although the narnia ones are kinda fun
