Powerpoint

My last post was a little depressing.  So I will share something I am really happy about.A Disciple of Jesus

Today I am preaching about the calling of the disciples–really just the naming of the 12.  Nothing very profound in the text–a list of names.

The angle I am preaching is that these ordinary men changed the world.  Then I run through a bunch of slides of people and talk about what Jesus’ disciples might look like today.

But what about Judas?  He is listed at the end of the list of disciples.  Judas, the one who betrayed Jesus.

What do we do with him.

I wanted to make the point that he looks like we do just like the other 11.  I am using my picture.  I think it will work well.

Risky.  (by the way, I wish I looked as cool as this guy!)

I met a guy at a sporting event. We talked and argued referee calls and had a great time. He had been a referee for a while and I told him that I had been asked to be an umpire and I ran I had noticed her sitting there watching but thought nothing of it. Her dad went to talk to a coach and I sat with his daughter cheering and arguing with her for a while. when I got up to leave she asked if she could pray for me. I said sure and she prayed for me and thanked God for what I was doing and for what God still had in plan for me. I was moved almost to tears. who knew that Jesus is a junior is highschool in a wheelchair and loves wrestling!
